Ponte Vedra Beach

Ponte Vedra is the county’s best-known coastal address: TPC Sawgrass, beach clubs, and a quieter luxury than South Florida.

Feel. Coastal, polished, golf-and-beach identity with a higher price of entry.

Commute notes. Typically 30–45 minutes to JAX airport; Southside and the Beaches towns are close.

Ponte Vedra Beach is often the first comparison people make if they are coming from a coastal suburb elsewhere. It is not Miami, and it is not a sleepy fishing town either. Think pines, dunes, and golf, with shopping along A1A and easy access north toward Jacksonville Beach.

Prices and insurance can surprise buyers who only looked at inland listings. Ocean proximity is the amenity and the risk. Look at elevation, dune protection, and what a homeowners policy actually covers.

Families often weigh Ponte Vedra against Nocatee: older trees and beach access here, newer schools and amenity campuses there. There is no universal winner — it depends on whether you want sand or a playground within a golf-cart ride.
